Sometimes I just get so impressed with different organizations that I have to mention them. For years there have been so many eco conscious people who have sincerely tried to make a difference in people lives and change the world for the better.  Today I will mention a group called " teensturninggreen.org."  This impressive group is making an effort to have lead banned from lipsticks.  Over 60 percent of lipsticks, even the pricey ones contain this toxic element.  What does lead have to do with beauty?  Sometimes you have to scratch your head  and wonder have we done something wrong in another life that we are being punished today.  Of course I am just kidding, but you have to wonder.  "Lips against Lead" campaign lost by just one vote this past 2008, in California.  I will certainly get involved in helping this organization make some noise.

     My sister Jeanie and I like to create new service ideas all the time at FOS LIVING.COM, so yesterday it occurred to me that I can not be the only person in the world suffering from sinus problems, so I had my sister give me a sinus facial.     Our agricultural service group in America has reported a total loss of 36 percent of their honey bee colonies.  What is this mysterious disappearance of bees, known as Colony Collapse Disorder all about.  New findings suspect the culprit is a class of pesticides called neonicotinoids marketed since the 1900s.  Banned by France, Italy, Germany and Slovenia and Greece, they are still used on 120 US crops.  Studies show that neonicotinoids impair bees navigational and foraging abilities.  Why should Europe have higher standards than the US.  I love that Europe follows more of a precautionary principle.  If there is only a suspicion of harm, you can go ahead and act without having to have absolute proof of harm.   Here in the US you have to show proof of harm.  We need change and soon.  I have to use organic Greek honey for my skin care products under the FOS FACE label to make sure that my clients get the best results.

Vitamin D deficiency is at an all time high epidemic.  My levels where 14 and suppose to be 30 and I get out into the sun. I will be looking into buying full spectrum lighting to sell in our eco store, but for now I actually found a floor lamp at Home Depot for 60 dollars.  Bring one into your children's room and see how their moods changes.
    There is a woman who is involved with holistic medicine out in california, who makes sure that her patients who are suffering with cancer get exposed to full spectrum lighting for a least 20 minutes a day. There is some sort of secret here.  I think many of us have the wrong lighting at our jobs and in our homes. It is eco friendly too, because it uses much less energy than standard bulbs.

While it is so convenient to get bottle water, it is just not safe.  This water is stagnant and is soon contaminated with our own bacteria from contact with mouths or hands.  The ideal situation would be to drink from a flowing source.  If you must carry water, use glass containers, plastic is porous and much more difficult to clean.  Years ago I did some research on different plastics.  I was told from a person in the plastic industry the bluer the plastic the closer it is to glass.  There is different quality plastics on the market, but the water industry seems to be still giving us the cheap stuff.  Often I see plastic bottles outside deli's for hours in the sun.  I wonder how hot it gets in back of those trucks that also allows chemicals from plastic to leak into our water.  Sheryl Crow's oncologist told her that drinking from plastic bottles contributed to her breast cancer.  We need to look into this more carefully.  I ordered Mountain Valley recently at my store, FOS LIVING.COM and put water filters in place.  I also will be selling filters at our eco store, for the home soon.  I have read that even if we do this, it will help, but the best thing to do is change our old pipes. 

    Tonight was life altering. Maybe I am being a bit dramatic, and maybe I have no life and that is why I enjoyed it so much. My sister has this incredible talent that I did not know about. I knew she is the best organic hair colorist, I knew she gives the greatest organic facials, but I did not know she gives the best, I mean the best body scrub and foot massage. Now that we are working together again, I am getting to know her all over again. I have been feeling so much stress lately.  I have a best friend who is not well, and there is nothing anyone can do about it.  My head is and body is so tense, so my sister took me into the facial room and put on a relaxation music tape with birds, and then put the steam with organic essential oils on my face, then put a warm clove smelling blanket on my stomach and put a few more blankets on me to keep me warm and then took off my shoes and started massaging my feet and doing foot reflexology.  I am really beginning to think that the feet affect our body and minds more than we think.  I went into  that room all tense and came out a different person. On top of all this, she took these warm hemp towels,  and started to scrub my arms, my neck, my legs and then the feet with this organic lemon scrub.  I was in heaven.  Sometimes I forget to breathe and have to force myself. I noticed when you relax you breathe easier and somehow you can handle stress a little better.
   

    Nobody is more shocked than me when something actually works. The owner of noni lotion from Hawaii told me that I could use this 15 dollar bottle to do a peel on my skin, so I actually tried it the the day and almost fainted with delight. Even though I use my gorgeous FOS FACE organic skin cream on my face, I still had to wear foundation to even out my skin, but not anymore.  I put his lotion on my legs first and starting rubbing after 30 seconds and could not believe how much dead skin came off.  Then I worked on my chest area, a sure spot that could tell everyone how old you, not that I care, but I don't like that crappy, leathery skin look at the moment.  I am still looking for a husband and I need that to still look a little firm and fresh.  Yesterday I did it on my face and let me tell you the result is shocking.
